Geotechnical Investigation for Proposed Kabale New Sub-station in Hamuko Village, Hamurwa Sub-County, Rubanda District.

Uganda Electricity Transmission Company Limited (UETCL) plans to construct a new substation in Hamuko village, Hamurwa Sub-County, Rubanda District. To participate in the bidding process, L&T Construction instructed SADRiNE Consulting Group Limited to conduct geotechnical surveys, which included soil resistivity tests, excavation of test pits, drilling boreholes, and laboratory testing of samples. The purpose of these investigations was to gather subsurface information to aid in designing the new substation facilities.
The geotechnical investigations, conducted under the supervision of Evelyn Lydah Awori and Samuel Jjuuko from January 31st to February 5th, 2022, involved a comprehensive field study and subsequent laboratory analysis. The findings were compiled in a detailed report, providing essential data on the physical and engineering properties of the subsurface soils. These findings and recommendations aimed to ensure the technical feasibility and sustainability of the new substation, contributing to the successful execution of the project.
